Rye Rangers Strike Gold in Massachusetts Tournament

The Rye Rangers Pee Wee B1 team capped off a great season with a 3-0 victory against the Bedford Bears in the finals of a Massachusetts tournament March 5. The Rangers, undefeated in league play this year with a 10-0-2 record, defeated the White Plains Plainsment in the tourney’s first round.

Rye was strong on offense and defense all year, and Eddie Massaro, the coach’s son, played superbly in goal. The team’s championship roster included George Ross, Forbes Crowley, John Barber, Ryan Telesca, Charlotte Fleischman, Zach Bunder, Ryan Germain, Austin Sampel, TJ Gooley, Theo Bartlett, Guy Junkins, David Hauben, and Aiden Connerty.

“The team improved over the course of the year due to their hard work on and off the ice,” said coach Ed Massaro. “We are proud of our championship title but even more gratifying is the teamwork and respect for each other the players displayed.

The Rye Rangers Hockey Club was founded in 1973 and is dedicated to promoting both hockey skills and good sportsmanship. For more information, go to ryerangers.com
