Rachel Vallarelli, the goalkeeper for Holy Child’s lacrosse team, was recently named to the United States U-19 Women’s National Lacrosse Team. Vallarelli was one of 24 athletes selected from a pool of more than 175 of the nation’s premier players. They will represent the U.S. at the Federation of International Lacrosse U-19 Championship in Germany next summer.
Vallarelli, entering her senior year at Holy Child, represented Hudson Valley at the Empire State Games in July, and participated in the Women’s Division National Tournament. She also was named to the Long Island Team Camp All-Star squad this summer, where she earned a second MVP trophy for her efforts.
