Morning Round-up: Mundinger Scores 100th Point

Paul Mundinger scored his 100th career pointl for the Rye ice hockey team Wednesday at the Ice Casino, as the Garnets routed Somers 11-0. The victory snapped a three-game streak without a win, and improved Rye’s record to 6-3-1. Mundinger finished with four goals in the win. Up next for the Garnets are a pair of non-region games this weekend against upstate opponents. Both games — versus Homer-Cortland and Whitesboro — will be at the Ice Hutch in Mount Vernon.

Rye’s wrestling team dropped a 68-7 decision to Pleasantville at home. Graham Zahringer and Jesse Trumm were both victorious for the Garnets.

Holy Child’s track team won the Independent School section of the 4×400 meter relay at the Millrose Games trials at the New Balance Armory in Washington Heights, N.Y. Rachel O’Driscoll, Isabelle Despins, Brianna McLoughlin, and Katelyn Racanelli set a new school record of 4:23.8 en route to victory. The girls will compete in the 103rd running of the Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden January 29.
